Here are some keys to the improved performance sailors will experience.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Upper block is now a 25mm Fly block with stainless balls and a unique pin shaped and angled to remain in place even under zero tension.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe middle double block is in fact, a Zircon fiddle block with a unique twist (we call it the ‘twiddle’ in Pewaukee). Its slim shape slides easily along the purchase system it inhabits, to remain upright where conventional double blocks tip twist or tangle. A fiddle is a better choice where the line moves in uneven sequence around the two Zircon sheaves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Fly bottom unit is also quite distinctive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvery sheave is larger diameter for more power and wider for less friction, so the unit will better enable today’s increased vang loads. And yet, by rendering it of our proven Carbo nylon-reinforced composite material, the unit is 21% lighter than our current stainless version.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe whole unit is a bit more aero friendly to our eye and shouldn’t foul the cunningham or outhaul controls. All sheaves are Harken Fly with stainless bearings running in stainless races.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe last turn before the micro Cammatic is a lightweight stainless ferrule which replaces the fairlead in earlier designs. The cleating angle has been made to match our\u003cbr\u003eexisting standard but there’s a wedge in there for those who would like to experiment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe system’s design anticipates that sailors may wish to remove some system purchase to reduce the amount of line in the cockpit.
